Prayers for temptation and struggle
Fighting a habit I can't break
Strength for the fight against sin and habits.

No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire.
Therefore don’t let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. Also, do not present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.
Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me.

Original writing, not a quotation of Scripture.
Lord, I have tried to break this on my own so many times and keep ending up right back where I started. I need more than willpower, I need you to change what I actually want. Give me a way out the next time I am tempted, and give me the courage to actually take it.
Where I fail, meet me with grace instead of shame, and help me get back up faster each time this happens. I want to be free of this. In Jesus' name, Amen.
