No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
Watch and pray, that you don’t enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
Blessed is a person who endures temptation, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to those who love him. Let no man say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God,” for God can’t be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own lust and enticed.
For in that he himself has suffered being tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.

Lord, right now, in this exact moment, I feel the pull toward something I know isn’t good for me. You know what it is even though I haven’t said it out loud. Give me strength for the next five minutes, I don’t need to win the whole battle today, just this moment.
Remind me of who I actually want to be when this feeling has passed. Make the way of escape you promised visible to me right now. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
