Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
Not only this, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope:
For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory,
We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, and flame will not scorch you.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all.
A prayer

Lord, this trial is refining something in me that I would not have chosen for myself, and it is hard to see the purpose while I am still inside it. I trust that when this is over, I will be able to look back and see your hand at work, even if I can’t see it clearly now. Carry me through the parts I can’t carry myself.
Let this season produce something in my character that outlasts the difficulty itself. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
