Anxiety
Philippians 4:6-7
In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
Paul does not say stop having the feeling. He says what to do with it, which is a different and kinder instruction, because it has a destination in it. Let your requests be made known assumes you have requests, plural, and that they are specific enough to say out loud.
The word behind guard was a soldier's word. A garrison, posted. It does not promise that the peace will explain anything to you. The verse says plainly that this peace surpasses understanding, so it arrives without the explanation you were hoping for.
Thanksgiving sits in the middle of that sentence and is easy to skip. It is not a mood you have to manufacture. It is naming one thing that is true and good while the unresolved thing is still unresolved.
