Lord, I want to correct my child out of love, not out of my own frustration in the moment. Help me discipline in a way that shapes their character instead of just venting my irritation. Give me the self-control to pause before I speak or react.
Let them see that correction comes from care, not from anger, and let the fruit of it be a heart that trusts me more, not less. Teach me to be firm and gentle at the same time. In Jesus' name, Amen.
