Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep.
Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up.
A friend loves at all times; and a brother is born for adversity.
Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do.
So they sat down with him on the ground seven days and seven nights, and no one spoke a word to him, for they saw that his grief was very great.

Lord, my friend is going through something hard right now, and I want to show up well for them instead of saying the wrong thing or disappearing because I don't know what to do. Give me patience to just be present, even in silence, instead of rushing to fix what isn't mine to fix. Help me listen more than I talk, and check in even after the initial crisis has passed and everyone else has moved on.
Use me to remind them they aren't alone. In Jesus' name, Amen.
