Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory.
Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established.
But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you.
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who is wise listens to counsel.
Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

Lord, I've been wondering whether I need more help than I can give myself right now, and part of me feels like asking for that help means I've failed somehow. Show me that isn't true, that reaching out to a counselor or doctor is wise, not weak, and that you can work through the people trained to help just as much as through prayer alone. Give me courage to take that step if it's the right one, and surround me with people who will support me in it, not shame me for needing it.
